Roadtrip: Day 2

This morning our wake up call was 5:30 AM, yikes! By 6:00 I had said my goodbye to Gannon, and we were on the road. Unfortunately it was raining when we left, and continued to rain for about half of our 12 hour journey. By 8:00 AM we were hungry and a little sleepy so we decided to stop for some breakfast!
Breakfast of Champions.
Full of food and caffeine, we journeyed on! We left Virginia soon after our stop, which was a tiny bit sad!
Welcome to Tennessee!
I was excited to start a new state and see all the beautiful scenery Tennessee has to offer. We drove straight across Tennessee, which FYI, is pretty dang long! Even though it was beautiful, I was sick of it! While in Tennessee we passed though Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis. Downtown Memphis looked really amazing from the highway. We saw some huge pyramid arena, and we even saw St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I was really excited to see St. Jude's because I love and appreciate everything they stand for.

Immediately after we drove through Memphis, we drove over the Mississippi River and into Arkansas.
The Mississippi River in Arkansas.
Driving through Arkansas was the pits! The roads were terrible, there were tons of forrest fires, and to top it off we were exhausted! After 12 hours of driving we finally made it to Little Rock. We settled into our room and had a nice southern meal at Cracker Barrel. We are both currently tucked into bed watching the Kardashian Wedding Special (guilty pleasure). Hopefully tomorrow will be an easier drive!  Here's to hoping for a good night's rest and no traffic tomorrow!

Next stop: Amarillo, Texas
9 hour drive :(
